TIANA SASU CMHC, M.eD

“She think she’s all that…, always judging someone…, conceited, unapproachable, unattainable, stuck up…”, these may be words that may have been used to define you; I know they have been used to describe me. Being objectified, feeling like you’re not enough, and living with mislabeling can quickly lead to identity loss. It all feels like oppression, and I want to eliminate it from the hearts and minds of our young ladies! Please allow me to assist you in re-framing your thoughts so that you can identify self-efficacy, display dignity, and show pride in yourself as we grow together.

Before transitioning to the field of counseling, I was an elementary school teacher with over 10 years of experience. Though challenging in many ways, this experience taught me compassion, authenticity, and empathy. I can support you in developing and implementing healthy coping strategies to deal with stress and anxiety, increase self-confidence, adopt positive self-talk, heal old wounds, and form meaningful connections. While I take my work seriously, I infuse my humor into my collaborative style. I use approaches such as Mindfulness, Person Centered, and Behavioral Therapies. At this early stage of my counseling career, I am building my knowledge on anxiety and depressive disorders with the adolescent and young adult populations, 12-27 year of age, females preferred; children and families as well. Thank you for your trust and belief in advance!

My name is Swiyah Whittington, and I serve adults, children, and families as a psychotherapist using an integrative approach that includes a combination of somatic practices. This interactive approach supports clients’ sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence.

I am here to assist clients in navigating the challenges that life has brought them, from childhood trauma to just managing day-to-day concerns. I work with clients seeking improvement in their lives. As a therapist, I support each client on their journey to healing. I meet each client where they are and support them in setting goals towards where they would like to be. The initial session begins with an assessment to identify where they are and their needs. In collaboration with this information and our work together, we develop goals to get the client there. I work with adults, children, and families wanting to improve.
